The Wars for Vietnam: 1945-1975

Critics of the American intervention claim that the Vietnam war was unnecessary and immoral and that policymakers in Washington dragged the country into an unwated war. In contrast, a small group of scholars and military leaders offer an emotional defense of American intervention. A careful examination of many sources reveals that neither views is entirely accurate and that the interplay of events was far more complicated than most accounts suggest. This site offers you an opportunity to examine some of these sources including many official documents.

This web site is a collection of primary source documents for the most part. A very touching, fascinating site, it is liberally illustrated and loaded with information. The arrangement and organization is a bit haphazard; however, the material is powerful enough that the persistent reseacher will be rewarded. Lots of statistics which are verifiable.
